The Hub will have a much-needed day off this Monday. Knowing how important the community is to this franchise, many players are taking the opportunity to give back to the community that has given them so much.
A number of players are taking the weekend to help boost the local economy, namely the economies of several local nightclubs. We caught up with Shortstop Jordan Scales at a local tavern at 11am Friday. “We figure if we start drinking early in the afternoon, every day, *hic* all weekend, it could really *hic* help the bar sales around town. This could, like, have an effect *hic* on the local economy in a positive way,” Scales managed to mutter while sitting amid a barrage of empty cocktail glasses and beer cans. Read More
This past week spelled heartbreak for The Hub, as they dropped their second straight. There was one out in the bottom of the 7th, and The Hub was down by two runs, when Eric Farnham laced a line drive deep to right center. Incredibly, the ball bounced off the top of the fence, and landed back in play. Eric Farnham, a self professed speedster, got thrown out at third trying to stretch his double into a triple. Read More
Manager Mike Staebell has just announced that IF Zach Raymond has been placed on the 7 day DL due to shoulder soreness. Raymond, who has a stellar .695 BA in the leadoff spot and has drank a remarkable 4.5 beers per game, will be watching from the bleachers as The Hub takes on some other lame Barmuda team.
Raymond pulled himself out of the game last week for the same reason. What is the cause of this nagging injury? When asked for comment, team trainer Eric Farnham responded, with a puzzled look on his face, “What? Dude– Staebell, you have WAY too much time on your hands.” Read More
